Live each day as if it was your last.....

When I was young, I came across the following quote: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right."

It certainly made an impression on me and, since then, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?"

Whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something……

Why not try this yourself - you may be surprised at the results....!

What if your website could talk and help you convert prospects to sales?

Businesses spend thousands and thousands of ££s every year on advertising and marketing their business. In a business start-up phase though, not many of us have unlimited resources to throw at this expensive, but necessary, activity.

However, you can increase your online sales and profits with a very simple tool. AudioGenerator. This is a really fast, easy and economical way to increase your online sales and profits without additional spending on advertising costs.

The reason it's so effective is that it automatically builds solid rapport with even your more sceptical prospects by expressing trust, credibility and authority of the human voice.

That's because the human voice has the power to influence, motivate and persuade prospects to click 'Order Now' buttons faster and with less resistance.

And the good thing is, you don’t need to be a technie to learn how to use AudioGenerator – there’s no HTML programming!! It really is simple enough for a child to use.

So why not break the silence of your eMarketing campaign and add pulling power to your Website, auto responders, email, pop-ups, shopping carts and other online tools you may use.

It’s a tool we at Quantum Coaching and Consulting recommend to all our coaching clients.

Here's a snapshot of what AudioGeneratorTM can do for your business:

  • Talking emails – liven up your emails be making them talk to your prospects, subscribers and customers.

  • Homepage Voice Messages – Welcome your first-time visitors to your website with your own voice. This makes you stand out from the crowd.

  • Talking E-Zines – put e-zines on marketing steroids!

  • Voice updates – Let your site visitors or subscribers hear your updates in your own words. The written word is limited, but prospects are more likely to make a purchase when they are exposed to the human voice.

  • Audio learning – Let people learn through your voice, or the voice of a professional speaker. Instead of them reading your lessons, let them hear the lessons. That’s how most people like to learn most. And that’s why ‘distance learning’ companies like Nightingale-Conant are successful in building multi-million business with the power of the human voice!

  • Audio postcards – Reach out to your customers and prospects during holidays, or the big moments – like birthdays – by adding sound to your email postcards. This functionality is NEW.

  • Beat your competitors – Competition on the website is getting fierce with over 37 million Websites online and 50,000 new Websites that go live each week. ‘Voice Marketing’ instantly adds value to your Website and gives you a first-mover advantage over your competitors.

  • Audio testimonials – this is one of the top benefits of how AudioGeneratorTM gives you an advantage over your competitors. Your customers simply call into a free toll-free testimonial Hotline and for a small cost you can have captivating voice testimonials uploaded to your Websites within seconds!

  • Voice-activates sales messages – give that extra touch to your Website’s sales copy, FAQs, About Us pages (in fact any page you can think of) and have your prospects hear about your product or service through the power of your own voice.

  • Instant rapport – Social psychologists tell us that humans are more likely to trust you if they can year you AND see you because you bring more ‘communication modalities’ into the mix.

Golf balls, pebbles, sand and coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee !!

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar were full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions - and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else---the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The coffee just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

How true!

Knowing Yourself to Understand Others

Have you ever heard the saying 'to understand another person, first you have to walk a long way in their shoes'.

Well, yes, to a certain extent there is something in this. It means that you need to feel what being the other person is like to be able to relate to their experiences and feelings.

Beware, however! You may find that walking a few miles in someone else's shoes will damage his shoes and also hurt your own feet.

So, before walking in another person's shoes - look at your own feet first.......

Energy Reach

Well, it's Sunday night and it's been a pretty packed weekend. We've finally caught up on a lot of gardening and it feels so satisfying to see the results!

I know the weeds will come rushing through again, especially with the changeable weather we're having, but it was great being outside soaking up the sun while doing the gardening.

The only problem is that I know feel exhausted after so much physical work (while not being very fit!). At times like this I use a NLP techniques to re-energise myself and thought I would share this with you.

It only takes about 3-5 minutes and is a great exercise to do every morning to ensure that you've got bags of energy to carry you through the day.

Here goes:
  • Stand tall and stretch your arms out above your head. Reach as far as you can.

Imagine that your body is being pulled up from the top of your spine by a very strong silken cord.

When you feel that you have stretched as far as you can, stretch just a little bit more - you always can! Feel your body strengthen and lengthen. While you're doing this, remind yourself of all the great goals you're reaching for. Maybe it's the promotion you want; the new job; the improved relationship; a great physique - you name it!

Hold the position for about 20 seconds and then release. As you release breath out looooonnnnnng and slow.

Repeat two more times or for as many times as you like.

I find this exercise really energising - I hope you do too!

Have a great week.

Take Action..........

A wise person once told me that, in every person's life, there is a moment when the awareness of their destiny bursts, like a bubble, onto the surface of their conscious mind.

At this moment, people who are weak tend to make themselves busy with the day to day mundane tasks of their lives. They avoid the realisation of what has happened.
Conversely, when this happens to a strong person, they awaken! They decide to take what action is needed to change the world for the better. After all it's their world as well! By doing so, they secure for themselves their rightful and valued place in the history of humankind............

Take action now!

Moving away from the Conditioned Mind

Have you ever heard (or even said) something like ‘he’s in his own little world!’. I heard this the other day while sitting on a train on a business trip to Paris….. not a bad place to do business!

I’ve heard it myself dozens of time and even said it. But this time, it got me thinking that each one of us lives in our own unique world, really. The way we perceive and experience things are unique to us and no-one else. We are conditioned by the way we grew up, by the values and beliefs we develop as part of our environment (people and things), by the limitations we were given or adopted, by the emotions we experience, by the attitudes, and opinions we experience. So you see, this conditioning affects everything we do and our every outlook on life. It’s a kind of distortion, similar to looking through a curved window.

With over 6 billion people in the world, that’s a lot of individual worlds and a lot of curved windows!

The effect on our Potential

This conditioning, the way in which we see things, makes us believe that that’s the way things are, and has an effect on how we perceive ourselves. As you can imagine, this distortion can have a huge impact on whether we are able to reach our maximum potential.

Recognising this effect is a huge first step to being able to make any changes necessary to break through any barriers (or distortions). We can now start to see things in a different light. We start to understand the impact these beliefs, values, emotion, attitudes and opinions have had on our own decisions and why they have often felt incongruent to us. When this happens a phenomenal thing happens. Things click into place. Any anger that we experience starts to drift away because we now understand why we feel angry – we understand that the conditioning has distorted our views. Our experience of life improves, and keeps on improving!

We are able to shake off the shackles of our conditioning and continue to grow and improve – to reach our maximum potential. It might seem a bit frightening at first because it’s sometimes easier to stay as we are, to continue to accept our conditioning and all of the limitations that it holds for us. There’s an element of security in that conditioning.

But if you want to make changes in your life, take advantage of this learning. Recognise that you have the power within you to Be MORE – Do MORE – Achieve MORE.

We all have within us the potential to be our very, very best. We just need to take a little bit of a risk now and then to step outside of our comfort zone and to experience the freedom it can give us.

Take Action

1. Look at areas in your life where your perception may be distorted by your conditioning and make a list.
2. What one thing can you do today to change the effect the conditioning has had on you?
3. Be bold – be adventurous! Make the change today, and tomorrow, and every day after that. It only takes approximately 21 days to change a habit.
4. Then come back to this blog and share your experience with us.

At Quantum Coaching and Consulting we work with people to help them understand and re-evaluate their conditioning, so that they are able to make lasting changes. If there’s anything that’s holding you back, give us a call to see how we can help you help yourself!

Breaking Our Own Personal Barriers

All great achievements were at one time or another thought to be impossible. E.g. landing on the moon (Neil Armstrong); breaking the sound barrier (Chuck Yeager); running a mile in under 4 minutes (Roger Bannister) etc.

Since these great people first accomplished their dreams, many more followed in their exact same footsteps and others have since gone on to even exceeding these original 'barriers'.

These barriers are ony barriers while we perceive them as such.

What's your own personal barrier? What do you perceive to be impossible today? Based on the opening thoughts in this blog, are your perceptions rational?

The only difference between Neil, Chuck, Roger and yourself, is perception.

We're all writing our own history in all our own individual thoughts and deeds. How will your write your future? What barriers will you have conquered?

It's all in the mind......

"If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you won't.
If you like to win, but don't think you can,
It's almost a cinch that you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost,
For in our world you'll find
Success begins with a person's will.
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're out-classed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be very sure of yourself
Before you can win the prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the strongest or fastest man.
But sooner or later the person who wins
Is the person who thinks she can."

Eve: In my career to date, I’ve worked for some of the leading blue-chip companies in the world (Fidelity Investments, NatWest Life, Legal and General, National Power, Lloyds Bank, Glaxo SmithKline, Northrop Grummon, EUROCONTROL, Sainsburys, KPMG).

I’m told I’m a natural entrepreneur (my mind’s always brimming with new ideas – I sleep with a notebook and pen beside my bed for those moments when I wake up with more ideas!), and together with my husband, Vinden, we set up and ran our own IT recruitment company and management consultancy. As such, we’ve got first-hand experience of the types of challenges faced by small and growing businesses.

I definitely 'walk the talk' and believe that we all have the ability to unlock our true potential.

Vinden: Vinden is a keen academic, successfully graduating with a degree in business studies (from Warwick University) and a master's degree in computer information systems (Boston University).
